I remember very fondly how close myself and my mum became during my pregnancy, after the distance grew in the teenage years, and the independence that came as a young adult, it was really lovely to have that time of reconnection & bonding before my daughter arrived.

I was super excited when Vicki & Courtney walked through my doors to celebrate this fleeting moment in time – before Daughter is to become Mum & Mum to transition to Grand Mother. What a special time – and how beautiful to capture. Vicky tells of her experience…

“I was inspired after seeing Paula’s work at the women’s expo. I never had the opportunity with my own mother who died at the same age I am now.

My daughter had recently been married and was 19 weeks pregnant. Also, 12 months earlier I changed my diet and had lost a lot weight so was feeling good and wanted to capture that.

During the shoot Paula made us feel comfortable and encouraged us to be ourselves. We immediately hit it off and she felt like a friend.

When I saw the photos I was so happy to have such an amazing thing to share with my family. My husband was particularly pleased!!

“When I look at the photos I still get emotional to see the ‘three’ of us together. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to capture this time for us. It was a beautiful bonding experience”

To have had an opportunity like this with my mother would have been a profoundly important for me due to losing her suddenly when my children were toddlers. I look exactly like her and I have no special photos of us as mothers. I always thought I had time.”
