June 1, 2015
OK so May has been just a huge month, with Mother’s Day. I have been sharing so many amazing moments with so many awesome women celebrating some pretty monumental shifts, journeys, breakthroughs and relationships it has been totally inspiring exhausting and emotional all at the same crazy time.
Starting super early most mornings to give little miss mumma time before school run shooting editing clients school run dance class dropoffs and pickups play dates and dinner chats and then up till nearly midnight (and beyond) most nights editing photos.
Also made a trip to Sydney in the middle to photograph a wedding.
All the while falling in love with what I do over and over again.
So as happens to all of us at different times, I have developed a few bad habits and crutches to keep me up and going.
The most serious one being a chocolate habit late at night, I think in part because it keeps me up.
Also in part due to the fact that my father in law sends the most delicious chocolate directly to us from Ireland (Minstrels YUM)
And also that I had to sell a box of 50 caramel koalas and freddo frogs to fundraise for dance school. (Needless to say I handed over the 50 bucks for the box and only saw about $8 in return)
This habitual crave for chocolate I’ve never really had before, so it kinda crept up on me.
BUT I have decided to kick in the butt.
Which is why I need to break up with chocolate
(disclaimer: for 30 days).
So today was day 1 of quick choc op, and so far I have made it through a night of late editing, without a single wiff… mind you, I did eat through every last bit in the house on the weekend so I could start “fresh” today š
Also “accidentally” left remainder of fundraisers at miss’s friend’s on weekend.
There was something about the first day of winter, on the first day of the month, on the first day of the week that inspired me to start today.
And whilst I am not an advocate of denying yourself anything, I do wholeheartedly endorse moderation.
There is definately still a future for us, I just think it is better we take a break for now, and we can revisit our relationship in a month or so.
As much as it is going to be hard, and this afternoon I felt a bit like an grouchy bear needing hibernation I think I will be OK.
So I am putting it out there to you, do you have any bad habits that just aren’t serving you, that you want to get rid of? Just like me?
I reckon the best way to kick a old habit, is to get a new younger one, my choice this time is NUTRIBLAST
My friends are laughing at how excited I get at this awesome little whirly magician, but I am seriously in LOVE. I had the blenders and the juicers, what a punish to clean, this thing is the bomb. Takes like 10 sec to do it’s business, and can go straight into the dishwasher,
WIN
I am sure there will be good days and bad, but it is only for a month, and I am so looking forward now feeling lighter over the next 30 days.
So maybe I am not completely breaking up with chocolate, but rather cheating with greens and fruits, either way I am pretty happy to have just made this choice for me.
So if you feel like you have any habits you need to kick, join me and decide to do this just for you š
