I found Kim through a local school charity auction. I sent her an invitation to have a shoot with me, and when she called me she was so grateful, as in her own words “things like this just don’t happen for us”

I was pretty excited once I sat with them both, I could tell this was going to be such an exciting experience for both of them, and in turn so rewarding for me too.

It was such a great shoot. To watch them both come out of themselves, have a ball and walk away (after lots of thank you hugs) having had such a gorgeous experience.

As I have been trying to build this new little venture from scratch the last 5 months, I have been doing a lot of education on “business” and it always comes up, that you need to know your Why. Why are you in business, what drives you, what makes you get out of bed in the morning and strive for more?

Now I have written in way too many journals my vision & mission statements and have objectivized and goaled myself to the hilt. But nothing could prepare me for Kim’s reaction when she came to view her images. When she walked into my studio, her reaction to the gorgeous portraits we created together was so profound, bursting in to tears Kim told me she had never seen herself like this before, ever. Well, I nearly cried with her.

It really is very clear to me that the Y is not always easy to define in words, to explain easily to someone else who may not necessarily understand, but there is always a little nagging in your gut, that makes you want to follow a path. It does not always make sense at the time, and it may be really bloody scary at times to make a jump, but when you nail it there is no mistaking what your Why is ☺
