It was an incredible honour for me to share space with the incredible Rhonda Hemmingway.

You see growing up in the Wedding Industry I saw first hand the power of an exquisite design on a bride. I do believe that the style of the day is of course dictated by the couple, but is really steered by the brides gown.

(Um remember what the Vivianne Westwood did to Carries Wedding in Sex and the City??)

After having photographed over 800 weddings myself, I have seen all sorts of gowns, and it is always extra special to see a gown on a girl that you know was specifically designed for her.

Such is the magic of Rhonda Hemmingway. From the moment you enter the doors of her Atelier in Oxford Street Paddington, you receive a genuinely personal service as Rhonda delights in creating the perfect gown for each and every individual.

And even more special is listening to the many stories that Rhonda can tell you about dressing celebrities and Royals, as she floats round her shop effortlessly grabbing accessories and adding them to the bride to be looking at herself in the mirror dreaming of her big day.

It is absolute magic to watch her at her craft.

And even more impressive to me that I didn’t know before our shoot day together is that Rhonda was actually a wedding photographer herself once upon a time… and she has published a book SECRETS & CONFESSIONS OF A WEDDING DRESS DESIGNER which only increased my awe of this lovely generous woman 10 fold.

Capturing all the aspects of the creation process with Rhonda, from sketching to fitting, to cutting fabric, sewing and fitting was an absolute highlight for me earlier this year – and it is with absolute delight for me to share these highlights with you…
