August 16, 2016
OK so there is something really REALLY big happening for me this week, something I have been absolutely freaking out about, and am super excited about all at the same time.
It is the Women’s Lifestyle Expo this Friday and Saturday (Aug 19 & 20) at Lake Kawana Community Centre. Sue Frost and her team have totally revamped it, it is going to be ah-mazing, definitely worth visiting if you are as passionate about empowering women and all things pretty as I am.
I have been asked to do a workshop there – which is really massive for me, as I have never really done any public speaking before.
I can stand in front of 300 people on a shoot and command attention – but standing naked (without my camera to protect me) on a stage talking from the heart – that is an entirely different mountain for me – but one I am eager to overcome.
I really had to dig down deep for this one, to figure out what could I possibly share that an audience of my peers would want to hear. So I looked to my last 6 months for inspiration.
It has been the busiest time of growth for me – both personally and professionally. Personally I have struggled with perfectionism, procrastination and self sabotage – but have enjoyed becoming much clearer and calmer as a result of working hard on these traits and finding ways to bust through them.
Professionally I have taken on quite a few new team members to help give a better experience to my clients and take a burden off my shoulders – which is scary and exciting all wrapped into one.
To date this year I have photographed 101 shoots already, and one recurring theme keeps coming up with so many women I photograph, and that is that they just do not believe they are enough.
“I am sorry I am late, I am sorry I have put on weight, my skin broke out, my clothes aren’t great (you insert the word)”
…and all I can hear is…
“I am sorry I am not enough”
So this is what I have centred my workshop on, my journey, quest to BE ENOUGH and how to overcome this neg self talk to feel more than enough, to feel like YOU!
If this sounds life something you can relate to, come and check out my talk (crapping myself even putting this out there right now)
I am also giving away the major prize at the expo, CLICK HERE to enter for your chance to win a photoshoot with me valued at $1300 plus so many more prizes up for grabs
Hope to see you there 🙂
